Social Responsibility.

What This Page Is For.

We have created this page on our website to centralize our transparency on the work we’re doing for social, environmental and human rights issues. This page is a work in progress and will continue to be updated as our learning and actions evolve.

Sourcing Responsibly

The partnerships that we've build within or supply chain are something we hold dear. We have worked with the same local garment factory, as well as the same primary fabric supplier since the day we opened our doors.

Our Portuguese fabric supplier has always treated us with respect and kindness, even back when our seasonal orders would fit in a single box. As we've grown, so have they, and with their growth they have prioritized innovation and sustainability. We are able to trace the source of the fibres that make up each fabric, which we share in the product description of each item in our store. We are now also able to share our fabrics which are accredited with the following certifications:

- Our linens are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 approved, meaning each fabric has been tested and certified to be free from harmful levels of more than 100 substances known to be harmful to human health.

- Our cottons are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 approved, and approved by the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) which ensures that cotton is produced a way that is measurably better for the environment and farming communities.

We are dedicated to working towards sustainable industry practices both for the environment, and for the people that touch each aspect of our production, and we will continue to do our best to communicate all aspects of this side of P.O.M.P with you.

Our Carbon Offset Program

Our new offset program calculates the cost to neutralize the carbon emissions produced by shipping orders & uses those funds to protect forests. We are not raising the shipping costs to incorporate the new offset program.

The calculation takes into account the weight of each individual package and the distance that it travels to reach you.

Currently, our offset funds are being allocated to funding the Jarí Para REDD+ Avoided Unplanned Deforestation project in the Amazon Rainforest, a Verified Carbon Standard project certified by Pachama.

As of November 2nd, 2020, we have offset 360.5 kg of CO₂, the equivalent of 1,438.5 kilometres driven by an average passanger vehicle, and have protected an estimated 3,410.9 m² of forest.

Black Lives Matter.

Racial violence, profiling and injustice is real, and it matters deeply. Change is not always grand, or quick. Change needs to also be continuous.

Speaking up for black lives, indigenous lives, people of colour and marginalized communities is the new normal. It is the new normal until these folks are safe.

We stand with black lives and their allies in the fight against racism and oppression. We are continuing the work within ourselves as individuals and as a company to be better allies.

Coupled with other work, On May 30th, 2020 we made donations to the ACLU and The Native Women’s Association of Canada.
