About Power Of My People

Driven By Our Craft

In 2015, Power of my People was born from a love of mens vintage shirts, and the frustration as to why shirts of that callabre weren't on the womenswear racks. When we created POMP, Kyle and I made all of the shirts ourselves - Kyle cutting the fabric on our apartment floor, and myself sewing them in our utility closet that housed the sewing machines. The first shirts we made took us 18 hours to construct...each. I will never get tired of watching the skilful technicians in our local sewing rooms who make our shirts now, at the speed in which they make them, while achieving a standard of quality we are proud of.

We've evolved a lot since 2015, but some things haven't changed. From the beginning, we've designed all of our items to be the core of a minimal, yet eclectic wardrobe. We provide an alternative to flimsy fabrics, poor construction, and high cost-per-wear purchases. Our clothes are made to be your forever-favourites - key pieces that will be your wardrobe companions throughout your style evolutions.

All of our clothing is constructed with the highest quality, natural fibre fabrics we can find. We source all of our fabrics from trusted suppliers, and all fibres that make up our fabrics are sourced from countries with exemplary ethical manufacturing standards such as France, The United States and Australia.

What Made In Canada Means To Us

Every shirt that we cut and sew here in Canada is made by a small team of skilled technicians. This closeness matters to us; it means liveable wages, safe conditions, and a chain that feels connected by hands, not by a screen. There are no strangers in our supply chain - just people we trust, making shirts we're proud of.

We make less...on purpose. We're a small team, and we like it that way. It ensures a level of connection and accountability over mass consumption. It means when you write to us, someone who has been a part of making your shirt writes back.

Now 11 years in, we continue to prioritise relationships and work in a way that makes sense, respects people, and allows us to practise our craft everyday.
