How To Find Your Size

(A) BUST

Stand up straight and measure the widest part of your chest and across the shoulder blades with a soft measuring tape.

(B) WAIST

While relaxing your stomach, measure just above your belly button at the smallest part of your waist.

(C) HIPS

Stand with your legs together and measure the widest part of your hips - across the hip bone, and around your butt.

This is an approximate guide to finding the size that we suggest for you, based on the fit we intended.

Prefer a looser fit, or slimmer? Embrace your personal preference and use the measurement charts on each of our product pages to view the precise measurements of every one of our pieces.

Fit Guide FAQ's

What’s the difference between the Proper and Wayward Fit?

Our Proper Fit shirts are a standard fit with a straight side seam. They're a bit relaxed because there is no waist shaping, but still offer a standard fit. Designed to fit looser, The Wayward Fit is about 1" wider in the body (when measured flat). This style offers a slightly flared side seam, a more dropped/wider shoulder cut, and is a couple of inches longer for a bit more coverage.

How do I wash my shirt?

You can machine wash all of our shirts in cold water and hang them to dry. Be sure to wash similar colours together!

What are the measurements of the shirts?

You will find the exact measurements for each of our shirts on each of our product pages (linked just above the size options).

Why don’t you offer non-iron shirts?

We're proud to use 100% natural fibre fabrics and stay away from no-iron finishings. These finishes are often not sustainable and are made through harmful chemical processes that we prefer to avoid.

What's the best way to keep my white shirt white?

There are two products our co-founder and shirt expert Jessica likes to use on our shirts that she's found to prevent and remove discolouration and stains: - Oxi-Clean White Revive: Use this in the washing machine and it does a great job refreshing white clothes. You can also soak items as directed when tackling more stubborn stains. - Tide To Go Pen: Perfect for spot cleaning and small stains, we haven't come across a stain that it hasn’t worked on! Lipstick, grease, make-up – you name it.

Are your shirts good for traveling?

Yes! Traveling with linen and cotton shirts is a breeze if you follow a few key tips. For packing, we recommend folding linen shirts in half vertically, then rolling them from the collar down, like a cinnamon roll. From experience, this strategy tends to eliminate most packing wrinkles. To take extra care, once you've arrived at your destination hang your linen shirt up in the bathroom while you shower. This helps to relax the drape and 'diffuse' the appearance of wrinkles. If you're happy with a slightly less polished look with your linens, feel free to skip this step! That said, this is a great way to incorporate your favourite shirts into your travel capsule wardrobe without the need for a travel steamer.

What do the certifications of your fabrics mean?

All fabrics we use need to stick to key industry sustainability parameters in order for that fabric to meet our standards. To start, all our fabrics are Oeko-Tex approved. This means that they've gone through strict testing by independent test institutes which confirms that they're free of harsh or damaging substances. When it comes to our cotton, rest assured that the cotton in our fabrics is sourced from Better Cotton Initiative licensed suppliers. BCI suppliers produce cotton in a way that minimizes the negative effects of fertilizers and pesticides and cares for water, soil health, and natural habitats. Better Cotton Farmers also commit to decent work principles – conditions that support workers' safety and well-being.

Do you have a physical location where I can try on your shirts?

We're an online-focused brand and don't have a physical location or seek out retailers at the moment, but there are a couple of stores that stock some of our items in BC. Don't hesitate to send us an email and we can give you an up-to-date stockist list. For Canadian shoppers – we do offer free returns and exchanges Canada-wide! If you choose to place an order and your items don't work out as planned, we're happy to support you with an exchange or return at no extra cost to you.
