Jay Grandin and Leah Nelson got into video and animation almost by accident. The pair studied together at Emily Carr and soon after pursued careers in industrial design (Jay) and Film (Leah).
While worlds apart (Michigan and Vancouver) the couple sent silly videos to one another as a means of keeping in touch and connecting. During a Christmas visit the pair made a video together which went completely viral – 10′s of millions of views viral. Remarkable even in today’s standards but more remarkable still considering this was pre YouTube.
Soon after that video they landed a content creation gig with MySpace and McDonald’s followed soon after. Today they run Giant Ant studio in Vancouver where they tell stories through video and animation. One of our favourites videos of theirs is Stickboy - check it out!
